SERVICES

Helping students and families navigate the college research and application process is what I do. See below for details about the services I provide.

Services Offered

College Planning Services

I accept a limited number of client families so that I am accessible and available to provide students and parents with expert information, experience, guidance and support. I offer a single-fee, fully comprehensive consulting program through which your student receives support as they research and apply to college. I start with getting to know students and then we work together through the spring of senior year when students make their final college decision. Here is what we cover:

  • Work on the student’s self-assessment
  • Discuss what the student wants in a college and dreams about for their future
  • Set up a schedule for taking standardized tests and analyze ways to prepare for those tests. We also consider applying to college without test scores.
  • Draw up a broad list of colleges that might be a good fit
  • Work on methods for narrowing this list and placing schools in categories that include reaches, probables, and safeties
  • Plan times to visit colleges and discuss ways of evaluating them
  • Practice interviewing
  • Create a resume building on strengths
  • Discuss summer programs, jobs, internships, community service projects, camps, and other enrichment activities
  • Address the cost of college and financial aid
  • Consider a gap year before beginning college
  • Explore the benefits and sometimes the drawbacks of Early Decision, Early Action, and Rolling Admission
  • Develop a final list of college choices
  • Organize scheduling and assign responsibilities in applying to colleges. This includes recommending to students that they work with their guidance counselors in a responsible manner
  • Teach students how to write college essays and work with them on the personal statement and supplemental essays
  • The 16th point is to try to do all of this as painlessly as possible and to have fun in the process

Comprehensive Cost

Class of 2023 - $4500

Class of 2024 - $5000

College Transfer Services

Sometimes the first time is not a charm. Occasionally students need to transfer colleges. I am happy to help students identify what didn’t work when they started college and what they are looking for in a new school. We will begin with the why and continue through the submission of the applications.

We will do some or all of the things I cover with first-time college applicants.
